For the Love of Gracie

(The Southern Devotion Series #1)

Amy K. McClung

Jul 14th – Jul 21st

Always falling for the wrong guy, Gracie Walker hasn’t had much luck finding Prince Charming. She’s reached a point where it’s easier to forget about romance and focus on what’s important: college, clubbing, and her friends.
But the best-laid plans don’t always pan out as hoped.
Caught up in a web of relationships that threaten nothing but pain, Gracie has to decide who she can trust and who can help keep her safe.
What lengths will the man of her dreams go to… for the Love of Gracie?

I read the first edition of this book and absolutely fell in love.

The changes that were made I personally felt didn’t need changing. I think as I loved the original that seeing the changes didn’t really do it for me. Saying that, I still love this book.

Gracie Walker is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved, in doing so she ends up with Hudson, who is so wrong for her, he’s abusive. She goes out with her best friend Cam, who I love!! Whilst out she meets Cam’s friend Asher. Asher is sweet and kind and the total opposite of the guys Gracie usually goes for. As she is dating Hudson, her and Asher strike up a friendship. Gracie falls in love with Asher, but knows nothing can come from it, with her dating Hudson and Asher being gay.. right?

Asher he’s sweet and totally right for Gracie. He falls for Gracie the moment he laid eyes on her, with Gracie dating Hudson he has to settle for being friends. He is there for Gracie in the aftermath of Hudson and my heart breaks for him when it is revealed the true extent of what Hudson did to Gracie.

The secondary characters make this book even better. Even with the changes made, this book is still phenomenal.
