They’ve been to hell. The hard part will be finding their way back together.

5 stars out of 5
This is one of the most entertaining books I have read in a while. It has everything you can ever want in a book. This has the potential to destroy you if you aren’t careful, it almost broke me. I was so blown away with this story. The depth with which these characters are written, it was almost as if I knew them. By the end of the book I had felt everything you could feel while reading.
Bella is broken and wants to start over so that her amazing daughter doesn’t have to experience any more fear. Escaping from a bad situation, she finds herself in the home she grew up hiding away until her neighbors, Brenda and Jackson force her to start to live again. Here’s the thing about living, sometimes you get so busy enjoying life that you forget to be scared. That could be a good thing but not in this story. We see these amazing people go through such horrors and bounce back, it is inspiring.
This is not for the faint of heart, it deals with some serious issues and it does not shy away from the fact the sometimes humans are awful. This captivated me with the details and when I thought I couldn’t handle anymore, I found myself feeling love and friendship and support, like a soothing balm on my heart just when I needed it. This is the first book in what I hope to be a series, one more book is guaranteed, that I have shortlisted to the top of my TBR. I will keep an eye out for the follow up and anything else she writes. Like a drug I am hooked.

You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
