This is Me, Baby
by K. Webster
War & Peace Series
Publication Date: February 7, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance
***This is the fifth book in the series. First four books must be read first in order to understand this story line.***
The game was over and they stole the victory away from ME.
Cheating. Lies. Corruption. Death.
This pawn never stood a chance.
But then he came for ME.
He plucked ME from my nightmare and kept me safe.
My heart was in tatters and my soul was lost.
Until the beast in ME woke up.
She was hungry and furious and didn’t play by the rules of their game.
We were a vicious team. And we changed the game altogether. I took what was theirs because they took what was mine.
ME against them.
That is…until I had someone else with ME.
Someone who vowed to fight alongside ME until the very end.
I don’t want the love he has for ME.
But the beast in ME still craves to take everything she deserves.
He should run far away from ME.
Instead, he runs straight for ME.
This is ME, baby and I am going to ruin them all.
This is Me, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.
When reading this series you have to have an open mind on what constitutes a happy ending. This series is amazing and I was get excited every time I see there will be a new book, but with this one, I chomped at the bit because I knew it was going to blow my expectations out of the water.
I can’t go into this too in depth because it could spoil a lot of stuff but I will say for starters, I highlighted so many quotes. The words in this novel are spectacular and beautiful. They are the words that make a women totally swoon!
This book was told from a few POVs but it flowed perfectly! We get to see everyone that we live in one book and get to see in their heads. It wasn’t always easy, but for this story, I felt that the author needed to be open and diverse when telling us this story, she really blew me away.
Brie does a lot of growing in this book. To really understand what I mean (and the whole story) your need to read all the other books. I was able to connect with her more in this book. I don’t want to give away the important part, which is pretty much the whole thing, but she was amazing. One of those characters that you sympathize with and then root for til the very end.
Ren is obviously a major player in this book and I will say with out spoiling that he is so different then the Ren we know and fell in love with. That’s all I will say about that. He is still (and maybe even more) yummy.
There are a few interesting plot twists that I never saw coming. They were in par for the story but interesting and well planned out. It seems like the author did a great job with. It only her research but her passion for writing these story’s blazed.
While there is romance in this book, we see all types of love. Not just the sexual variety but so much. We see fathers love their daughters, firemds love for one another and while it’s not always easy, we feel the struggle and the joy.
I can’t go into too much detail because it will ruin it but I was so happy with how parts played out and even shocked play how other parts played out. I can’t wait for the next book! 5 stars #2OCCJD
