He was the myth and the legend of our small town. But no one knew the truth… except me.

My childhood was stolen by a monster. I’ve forgotten what love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.

He’s possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn’t speak. He doesn’t smile. He hides in the woods like an animal. I should be scared of him. But I’m not. He’s the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too. everything…

Ashlee’s Review

Tylers life hasn’t been easy before age 16 he was going places he was beautiful, popular and on the fast track to his dreams but everything came crashing down when he fell into a bonfire and disfigured his face. On top of his disfigurement he lost his girlfriend friends and fell into a deep depression where he used drugs to cope with his inner and outer pain til one night he wrecked his bike into somebodies house went through their front window and sliced himself up and got glass in his neck severing most of his neck and vocal cords, conciendently his father also suffered a heart attack and died that night pilling on the guilt and depression he already dealt with. After he left the hospital he disappeared to live in solitude in the woods.

Poor Holly our main heroine has had a hard life at the age of 8 she was abducted raped and abused for ten years, she was found by Tyler in the woods 10 years later.

This story begins with Tyler finding Holly in a hole with her dog Poppy when Holly is 18 years old. He saves her and kills “the bad man”. In the heat of the moment he calls 911 for Holly. And the police show up directly after Tyler kills bad man and is chasing Holly who is chasing her dog Poppy, so he gets arrested and dragged off to the station. Now Holly after ten years in captivity doesn’t act like a normal 18 year old, so pretty much after she meets her real family again shes dropped off at this rehab facility because her parents don’t know what to do with her basically. Here she lives and begins the process of trying to move on from her last ten years but never giving up hope her prince (Tyler) will come back for her. Tyler and her meet in the woods again a few years later and strike up a friendship slowly they begin to deal with their past together but can two broken people truly forget the past and make a relationship work or will demons destroy the growing love they find together? Will the princess get her prince? Will they together finally find home?

I give this book 5 stars I absolutely love Coles writing style her characters you can feel and truly connect with her characters. I love the stories where two severely damaged people try to make each other better and help them lay their demons to rest. I highly recommend this story

About the Author:

I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts.

My first novel in the best-selling Ashes & Embers series, Storm, published in September of 2014. I have many books and sequels slated for this series. My new spin-off series, Devils Wolves, launched in 2016 with the best-selling novel, Torn. There are several books planned for this series as well.

Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
