This is the second book in Samantha Lind’s Indianapolis Eagles series that I have read. While an enjoyable read it was slow in some places, but the overall read was good. The characters of Mark and Laura are relatable and I enjoyed the fact that the author let their timeline be real, not an insta-love.
Laura, daughter of the team’s owner, was a hard working member of the team’s front office. Her dedication to the team and its brand was commendable. Coming off a bad marriage, she wasn’t ready to start a relationship when Mark first came to the team.
Mark feels the spark with Laura from the beginning, but understands where she is at in her life. He waits for her and when the time is right and they finally get together, the sparks fly!
Lots of details in the book refer to a young fan’s Make A Wish wish and the time, effort and results of Laura, Mark’s and the rest of the teams commitment to giving the young fan his wish.
As I was reading the book, I kept waiting for some kind of twist, turn or something to throw a roadblock in Mark and Laura’s relationship for them to overcome, but it just didn’t happen. 3 Stars #2OOCMS
